Adventure Bay Beach is a popular spot for families. Some of the areas have great, sheltered spots for swimming.




Climb the newly revamped steps to Truganini Lookout at The Neck and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the isthmus of land connecting north and south. When you’ve seen the beach from above, follow the pathway to the sand and enjoy a relaxing stroll along The Neck Beach. Care is needed when swimming in the surf as conditions can occasionally be treacherous and the water is cold.


Great spot for families and the little ones to play or just relax on the beach or watch amazing sunsets. It’s also a great spot for swimming, kayaking, snorkelling, and fishing.




Daniels Bay and Little Taylors Bay at Lunawanna had calm water for swimming, boating, and kayaking. Scenic Cemetery Beach is bordered by a low rocky shoreline and backed by a narrow tree-filled reserve.




The Cloudy Beach is a picturesque view beach with pumping surf, visually stunning location has long golden sandy stretches and rolling dunes.
If you like long walks on the beach, you’ll love the 5 km of pristine white sand at Cloudy Bay in the South Bruny National Park. The beach makes up the first part of the East Cloudy Head Walk.




Nebraska Beach at Dennes Point is a quiet and peaceful beach that faces across the channel towards North West Bay. At low tide, you can explore Bligh Point and get your fresh oysters from the rocks at the point.




Discover the remote Miles Beach and enjoy a whole beach to yourself! The rocky archway in the sand adds an extra touch of magic. See if you can find the little fisherman’s shack hidden in the dunes at the eastern end of the beach.




If you’re feeling more adventurous beach hopping and don’t mind walking in the steep forest, Mabel Bay is one of the places to enjoy the beach on your own. This is also another surf spot on Bruny Island, although it tends to be mostly flat during summer. Rest assured that this surf beach is unlikely to be crowded. Mabel Bay is located not too far from the historic Cape Bruny Lighthouse.




Jetty beach is one of the great spots for families. Enjoy lazy times on the sandy beach, leisurely walks, or picturesque scenery. Jetty Beach offers safe, sheltered swimming along with snorkelling, kayaking, and fishing within the South Bruny National Park.

Hanssons Beach/Two-tree Point features picnic tables and a gentle stroll along a gorgeous beach. With an easterly swell condition, there may even be waves in which you can body-surf!
