Our Island home….. Lunawuni / Bruny Island

We have created a wonderful life in Alonnah after travelling between rural SE Queensland to our holiday home in Alonnah South Bruny for a number of years. How we picked Alonnah for our place after exploring Lunawuni for a suitable property was just simply the views to the west across Sunset Bay to the Hartz Mountains with a lovely cap of snow one beautiful October day sealed it….just wanted that view lucky us to be able to do this.

To experience the Bruny Island community is rather special having lived in many places with Gary’s job Lunawuni/Bruny Island community was one of the biggest reason for living here full time. From walking our local beach or the many walking tracks catching up with fellow islanders, volunteering for our fabulous small Alonnah District School & Bruny Island Co-op, picking up marine debris, watching the Aurora Australis from our kitchen windows, gardening growing some food for us and the critters, making fabulous saw dust. Gary’s creations made from the specialist Timbers of Tasmania sell at our Lunawana Makers & Produce Market beautiful kitchen utensil handles/stirrers, bird boxes ….it’s a mighty fine place to call home.
